Scholarships

Bulldog Brigade of Military Alumni Scholarship Program Information Sheet

The Cadet Scholarship program is based on scholarship merit and leadership potential. Each scholarship is granted for each academic year.

Eligibility

Must be a contracted cadet in the U.S. Army Cadet Command, Bulldog Battalion ROTC Program
Citizenship in the United States or a Resident Alien (Green Card holder)
A full time undergraduate or graduate student at a participating university (AAMU, UAH, ASU)
Must have a cumulative GPA of 2.50 or above and have completed at least 12 semester credit hours

Scholarship packets contents

  • Official transcripts/ unofficial copies will be accepted and later verified

  • Completed application with signed Affirmation Statement

  • Personal Statement: Describe yourself and include your hobbies, educational goals and career goals. Please be specific with your response. (Arial Font, 12 pt, 250 words maximum)

  • Essay: “Explain why you want to serve in the U.S. Army and how your years in ROTC will shape your future.” (Arial Font, 12 pt, 500 words maximum)

  • Two letters of recommendation using the form provided or on official letterhead (One letter is required from a professor, advisor, or dean currently employed at their university. The other letter is required from a person of cadet’s choice.(examples include clergy, mentor, coach, advisor, supervisor)

  • Cadre Letter of Recommendation on official letterhead only

  • ACFT Scorecard

Submission

  • All Letters of Recommendation should be mailed directly from the recommender to the chapter’s address. BBMA, Attn: Scholarship Committee, 100 Drake Drive Unit 552, Normal, AL 35762

  • Completed scholarship application packets must be received electronically before the yearly deadline date that will be determined for each academic year.

Award Verification

 

Failure to provide verification of enrollment and registration will result in forfeiture of the scholarship. The BBMA will notify students of award 4-6 weeks after the deadline.
